Scope: UK Commercial Lead at Vinci Plendi (VCGP Subsidiary)

1.      Karim provided the commercial management services for the refurbishment of the world renowned luxury hotel at the heart of London.

2.      The role was focused on addressing complex commercial and contractual matters. The Plendi team had just delivered a similar project in Paris for the MOHG (the client) and had no UK experience. Karim, having worked in France on various projects, was key in bridging the gaps and ensuring the approach to the project execution was adapted to cater for the UK specific requirements.  

3.      The exquisite finishes and attention to detail required for this project meant that I had to review in detail the scopes of subcontractors to ensure the obligations in the main contract are correctly stepped down with all of the stringent tolerances and timing of samples, approvals etc. The client’s main drivers were time and quality so contractually the focus was on value and ensuring the quality is of the highest level possible.

4.      After an unfortunate fire incident that affected a considerable section of the newly refurbished phase 1, Karim was instructed under NVRE to assist in the insurance claim process and negotiations with subcontractors.
